Earlier today (Wednesday), a number of Israeli civilians arrived in the Mount Hermon area with the intention of attempting to cross the border into Syrian territory.

An IDF force operating at the point prevented the advancement of civilians and detained them. The detained civilians were transferred for further treatment by the Israel Police. The IDF strongly condemns the incident, which constitutes another case of severe disruption to operational activity in the border area. This is a criminal offense that endangers civilians and IDF forces. The IDF expects law enforcement agencies to prosecute those involved and act decisively to stop this phenomenon, which repeats itself time and again and harms the forces’ operations.
