Suspicious Object Halts Train Service Between Tel Aviv and Lod
Train service between Tel Aviv and Lod was temporarily halted Monday after a suspicious object was found near the Ganot railway tracks.
Jerusalem, 5 October, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Train service between Tel Aviv HaHagana station and Lod was temporarily suspended Monday after a suspicious object was discovered near the railway tracks in the Ganot area, between Tel Aviv and Lod.
Israel Police ordered the railway section closed while the object was examined and security personnel worked to clear the area.
According to Israel Railways, service will resume once police provide final authorization to reopen the track. The disruption is expected to cause delays and service changes on railway lines across central Israel.
Passengers were advised to check updated schedules and service information before traveling. The suspension affects the section between Tel Aviv HaHagana and Lod, with trains unable to operate normally through the area while the security incident is being handled. Railway officials said they will restore regular service as soon as authorities determine that the tracks are safe to reopen.
