Jerusalem, 15 October, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Soroka Hospital in Beer-Sheva announced Thursday morning that a second worker had died from injuries sustained in Wednesday’s gas cylinder explosion at Intel’s plant in Kiryat Gat.
A third worker, in his 20s, remains in serious condition, sedated and on a ventilator.
Intel expressed condolences to the victims’ families and colleagues, saying it was cooperating with investigators.
Initial concerns about a possible hazardous materials leak were subsequently ruled out, though the Environmental Protection Ministry said it was assessing the incident’s environmental impact.
