Jerusalem, 4 October, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Israel’s Health Ministry said on Sunday that lab tests for Ebola were negative in a patient who was hospitalized in isolation after returning from the Democratic Republic of Congo and developing a fever.

The patient was isolated earlier in the day as a precaution after health authorities suspected possible Ebola Infection.

The ministry said the tests were conducted according to professional procedures and internationally accepted guidelines for dealing with high-risk infectious diseases. No confirmed Ebola Case has been diagnosed in Israel, the ministry emphasized.

Ebola is not transmitted through the air, according to the ministry, but spreads through direct contact with a symptomatic infected person or with blood, bodily fluids or secretions.

The ministry said it will continue monitoring the situation and updating the public and medical teams as necessary.
