Shin Bet Probes Channel 12 Over Leak of Netanyahus Secret UAE Visit
Israel's Shin Bet is probing Channel 12 over the leak of PM Netanyahu's secret UAE visit with President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
Jerusalem, 28 September, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Israel’s Shin Bet security agency is investigating the leak of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s secret visit to the United Arab Emirates, after Channel 12 first reported the meeting with UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. The report appeared Sunday evening, while Netanyahu was still on his way back to Israel.
The investigation concerns the disclosure of classified details surrounding the trip, which was reportedly intended to remain secret until the Israeli delegation returned home.
Mossad Director Roman Gofman, National Security Adviser Shmuel Ben Ezra, and other senior officials accompanied Netanyahu.
Channel 12 rejected claims that it endangered lives, saying the report was published only after Netanyahu had returned to Israel. The Prime Minister’s Office accused the network of violating censorship rules and potentially compromising security.
