Jerusalem, 14 October, 2026 (TPS-IL) — The Chief Rabbinate of Israel has announced a major expansion of its international kosher slaughter (shechita) system ahead of the upcoming winter season, approving dozens of newly certified specialists.
Led by Chief Rabbinate Council President Rabbi Kalman Meir Ber, the initiative deploys expanded delegations of slaughterers, knife inspectors, and team leaders to meat-exporting nations worldwide. Officials state that the reform drastically increases capacity to ensure strict compliance with dietary standards while streamlining inspection workflows. By expanding qualified personnel for global supply chains, the Rabbinate aims to enhance kosher meat availability and lower regulatory compliance costs for Israeli importers, providing financial relief to consumers nationwide.
