Jerusalem, 20 September, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Israeli defense contractor Rafael officially delivered its SPYDER Air Defense system to the Czech Republic this week during NATO Days, one of Europe’s largest security industry events.
The Czech Republic, which selected the system in 2021 through a government-to-government agreement with Israel’s Ministry of Defense, becomes the first NATO member state to acquire a complete air defense system from Israel. Two of four purchased batteries have already arrived, with all units manufactured to Czech and NATO specifications.
Israeli officials described the deal as reflecting a broader strategy of using defense exports to strengthen military capabilities, foreign policy ties, and Israel’s defense industry and economy.
