Jerusalem, 26 August, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Israeli defense contractor Mer Group said Wednesday it signed a binding framework agreement with an Indian defense company to develop counter-drone systems for customers in India, including the Indian Army.

A Mer Group subsidiary will develop artificial intelligence-based systems to detect and intercept unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), the company said. The first stage of the agreement, secured as a binding order, is worth about $6 million and covers development, integration, supply and support.

Later stages, including technology transfer and local manufacturing in India, are subject to regulatory approvals and additional agreements, the company said.
