AIR, Elmo Team Up on Next-Generation Uncrewed Cargo Aircraft
AIR partners with Elmo Motion Control to integrate advanced air-cooled servo-drive technology into its Heavy Lift uncrewed cargo aircraft.
Jerusalem, 26 August, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Tel Aviv-based aircraft maker AIR has partnered with Israeli motion-control company Elmo Motion Control to enhance AIR’s Heavy Lift uncrewed cargo aircraft, the companies announced.
Elmo, based in Petah Tikvah, will provide servo-drive technology to power the aircraft’s eight electric propulsion motors, replacing liquid cooling with an air-cooled system designed to reduce weight and complexity while increasing payload capacity.
The vertical takeoff and landing aircraft can carry up to 550 pounds and fly for up to one hour. AIR said more than 25 units have been ordered and paid for. The platform is designed for defense, commercial and humanitarian logistics, including maritime resupply and rapid aid deployments.
