Woman in Her 70s Killed by Truck in Hit-and-Run in Jerusalem
A woman in her 70s was killed in a suspected hit-and-run in Jerusalem's Rehavia neighborhood Sunday after being struck by a truck.
Jerusalem, 4 October, 2026 (TPS-IL) — A woman in her 70s was killed Sunday morning after being struck by a truck in Jerusalem’s affluent Rehavia neighborhood, in a suspected hit-and-run.
The woman was struck at the intersection of Rashba and Ramban streets and was found unconscious on the road without a pulse or signs of breathing. Magen David Adom paramedics performed resuscitation efforts at the scene but were forced to pronounce her dead.
Police, who said the truck driver fled the scene, launched extensive searches to locate him. Traffic accident investigators from the Jerusalem District were dispatched to examine the circumstances and collect evidence. Police are investigating the incident as a suspected hit-and-run.
The investigation and search for the driver are continuing.
