Jerusalem, 20 October, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Three women, including the director, were arrested on Tuesday on suspicion of abusing toddlers at a private daycare center in Ariel.

The Israel Police initiated a covert investigation following recent complaints regarding irregular conduct at the facility. Acting on a court warrant, investigators seized and reviewed security camera footage, which revealed substantial preliminary evidence of physical abuse against helpless minors.

The primary suspect, a 40-year-old daycare worker from the Samaria region, was detained overnight. The court has since extended her detention until October 22. Following further developments in the investigation, police arrested two additional suspects, including the facility’s director and another staff member.

In coordination with the Ministry of Education and to ensure child safety, authorities issued a 60-day administrative closure order for the daycare. The investigation remains ongoing.
