Jerusalem, 13 September, 2026 (TPS-IL) — The IDF Spokesperson said on Sunday that forces were called several times on Saturday to Al-Mughayyir, a Palestinian village near Ramallah, following reports of clashes between Palestinians and Israeli civilians involving stone-throwing. Forces dispersed the clashes and removed stone barricades, while stones were thrown at troops.
Later, an off-duty soldier reported being targeted with stones on the outskirts of the village and responded by opening fire. No IDF forces were at the scene at the time, and no injuries were reported from the shooting.
Police arrested the enlisted soldier, who allegedly said he fired in response to Palestinians from the village throwing stones. He was taken for questioning by Israel Police’s Judea and Samaria District to determine the circumstances of the shooting and was suspended pending the outcome of the inquiry.
