Soldier and Two Civilians Arrested on Suspicion of Trafficking Military Weapons

An IDF soldier and two civilians have been arrested in Israel on suspicion of trafficking military weapons stolen from the IDF.

Jerusalem, 10 September, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Two civilians and an IDF soldier were arrested on suspicion of trafficking military weapons, police said Thursday. The three are suspected of stealing three weapons from the IDF.

The two civilians were taken for questioning and brought before a magistrate’s court, which extended their detention by four days.

The soldier, who serves as a facility security guard in Shayetet 13, the IDF’s elite naval commando unit, was brought before a military court for a detention hearing. His detention was extended until next Wednesday. At the conclusion of the investigation, the findings will be submitted to the prosecution for review.

The investigation is conducted by the Israel Police’s Coastal District Central Unit in cooperation with the Northern District unit of the Military Police Criminal Investigation Division.
