Ministry inspectors rescued 25 dogs from severe neglect in Moshav Shibolim near Netivot, finding them in squalor with open wounds and infections.
Jerusalem, 23 September, 2026 (TPS-IL) — NETIVOT — Israeli authorities rescued 25 dogs from severe neglect at a compound in Moshav Shibolim near Netivot, in the western Negev, the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security announced.
Ministry inspectors, accompanied by Border Police and regional veterinary officers, raided three unventilated structures following public reports. Officials discovered the animals living in squalor amid waste, stagnant water, and raw meat scattered across floors. Veterinary exams revealed multiple dogs suffering from open wounds and severe infections, including a female dog with a deep neck injury.
All 25 dogs were transferred to a state facility for emergency medical care and rehabilitation. Authorities opened criminal proceedings and summoned the site owner for interrogation, marking the ministry’s second major animal rescue operation this month.
