Jerusalem, 27 September, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Jerusalem District police rescued a man early Sunday after he spent several hours trapped in a forest near the Jerusalem-area Peretzim Trail.
The incident began overnight when several teenagers passing through the area heard cries for help and alerted police. Officers from the Harel Police Station launched extensive searches through the forest and eventually located the man in distress. A preliminary investigation found that he had been walking along a trail to check whether he could reach his vehicle when he slipped and fell into the wooded area. He remained there from the afternoon until the early morning hours, unable to get out on his own.
Police reached the man and safely extracted him from the forest. He was subsequently taken for medical evaluation and further treatment.
