Police Arrest Serial Con Man Who Posed as Reservist and Robbed Disabled Victims
Jerusalem police have arrested a serial fraudster who impersonated an IDF reservist to exploit and steal from disabled victims.
Jerusalem, 4 October, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Police arrested a suspected serial fraudster accused of posing as an IDF reservist to gain the trust of disabled people and steal from them.
According to investigators, the suspect allegedly approached victims while presenting himself as a reservist and used the image of a soldier serving during wartime to persuade them to hand over money or valuables.
Police say he targeted vulnerable people and carried out multiple frauds before being identified and arrested. Investigators are examining additional complaints and suspect there may be more victims who have yet to come forward.
The suspect was questioned on suspicion of fraud, impersonation and related offenses. Police are continuing to collect evidence and determine the full scope of the alleged scheme.
Authorities are urging anyone who believes they were targeted by the suspect to contact police and provide information that could assist the investigation.
