Man Killed in Suspected Hit and Run in Sharon Area
A man in his 40s was killed in a suspected hit and run near Porat, with police arresting a woman in her 30s who allegedly fled the scene.
Jerusalem, 5 September, 2026 (TPS-IL) — A man in his 40s was killed Saturday evening after being struck by a vehicle near the Sharon-area community of Porat.
Police said they arrested the driver after she allegedly fled the scene. The woman, in her 30s, was taken into custody for questioning on suspicion of involvement in the crash.
The report of the accident was received at 6:56 p.m. by Magen David Adom’s 101 emergency dispatch center in the Yarkon region. The report said a man had apparently been injured in a traffic accident on Route 5535.
MDA medics and paramedics who arrived at the scene found a man with multiple serious injuries and no signs of life. They pronounced him dead at the scene.
