Israeli Police Seize Anti-Tank Rocket, Weapons Cache in Raid of Northern Arab Town
Israeli police in Jadeidi-Makr seized an anti-tank rocket, firearms, and ammunition, arresting two local residents as part of a crackdown on crime.
Jerusalem, 8 September, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Israeli police and Border Police tactical units raided a residential compound in the Arab town of Jadeidi-Makr in northern Israel, uncovering a large weapons cache and arresting two local residents. The raid came as part of Israel’s continuing “war” on violent crime in Arab communities.
The seized items included a LAW anti-tank rocket, an M16 assault rifle, multiple handguns, stun and smoke grenades, dozens of ammunition magazines, and large quantities of loose ammunition.
The operation was carried out by officers from the Western Galilee police station alongside the Coast District’s “Shahar” Border Police unit. The two suspects were taken into custody as the investigation continues.
Authorities have not disclosed the intended purpose of the weapons or additional details on the suspects.
