Israel Rescues 300 Dogs From Illegal Breeding Facility in Major Raid

Jerusalem authorities rescued 300 dogs, primarily poodles, from an unsanitary illegal breeding facility, with criminal proceedings underway.

Crime

Jerusalem, 10 September, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Israel’s Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security raided a large-scale dog breeding facility, rescuing approximately 300 dogs — mostly poodles, along with Pomeranians, French Bulldogs, and other breeds — kept in severe, unsanitary conditions.

Inspectors found puppies only weeks old, dogs with untreated corneal ulcers, matted and feces-covered fur, and spoiled food and water. One puppy was discovered trapped inside a water bowl unable to climb out.

Officials suspect the site operated as a commercial breeding and sales network, with signs of unrecorded cash transactions and attempts to destroy evidence, which have been referred to the Tax Authority.

All rescued dogs were moved to a protected ministry facility for medical treatment, with criminal proceedings opened against the suspected owner.
