TPS: Eilat Man Flees Police, Barricades on School Roof, Threatens Officer: Ill Burn Your Children
An Eilat man faces charges after fleeing police, barricading himself on a school roof, and threatening an officer with violence, including to his children.
Jerusalem, 15 September, 2026 (TPS-IL) — An Eilat man in his 30s was charged after fleeing a routine police stop on September 5, crashing into a traffic island, then continuing on foot and barricading himself on the roof of a guard structure at a school entrance.
An officer climbed up and brought him down, at which point the suspect allegedly cursed at the officer and threatened him and his family, saying: “I’ll stab you, I’ll burn your children.”
The investigation revealed the suspect never held a driver’s license and had been driving despite two court-imposed disqualifications, with no valid insurance and an expired vehicle license dating to 2016.
Eilat district prosecutors filed charges and requested his remand until the end of the proceedings. Head of the Police Eilat District Prosecution Unit, Cpl. Rotem Levy, said his conduct “demonstrates real danger to the public” and contempt for court rulings and law enforcement.
