Attorney Arrested for Systematically Forging Documents for Disqualified Drivers
An attorney in his 60s was arrested in Jerusalem for allegedly forging documents to enable disqualified drivers to continue driving illegally.
Jerusalem, 25 August, 2026 (TPS-IL) — The Israel Police Fraud and Cybercrime Unit, in cooperation with Central District Traffic Division investigators, arrested an attorney in his 60s, a resident of Tira, following a covert investigation conducted over several weeks.
The attorney, who represents clients in traffic law matters, is suspected of forging numerous documents for drivers whose licenses had been revoked, creating a false impression for courts, police, and the Licensing Authority that the drivers had surrendered their licenses and served their court-ordered disqualification periods, while in practice they continued driving during that time.
Officers arrested the suspect at his home Wednesday, as the investigation transitioned to its open phase, and conducted searches of his residence and office.
