The firefighting efforts, in which dozens of teams participated, lasted for about 16 long hours, and significant damage was caused as a result of the fire at the scene. Investigators from the Hebron station and intelligence officials at the station and in the Judea region began extensive investigation and evidence-gathering activities. Alongside this, a fire investigator from the Fire and Rescue Services determined that the incident was arson. According to the findings of his investigation, a suspect arrived at the fence of the vehicle lot and set fire to vegetation in the open area, causing the fire to spread to the vehicle lot. In the meantime, a suspicious individual was identified who appeared to be an employee of a nearby business. During his alleged work, he was seen taking a lighter and several tissue papers, and subsequently, he was observed walking near the lot and close to the fire outbreak points that were marked according to the findings of a fire investigator from the Judean and Samarian Fire and Rescue Services. This morning, police detectives located the suspect (Hebron, 66), and he was arrested for investigation. It appears the motive for the act is criminal, following the termination of his employment at the location. Subsequently, the police are expected to request an extension of his detention in court.
