Jerusalem, 20 September, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Israel’s Central Bureau of Statistics reported that foreign-controlled companies employed approximately 288,000 people in 2025, down slightly from 294,000 in 2024. Nearly half of these positions, 48.4%, were in the high-tech sector.
Total employee compensation at foreign-controlled companies reached 102.1 billion shekels (about $27 billion) in 2025, with high-tech wages accounting for 66.5% of that total. Average annual compensation stood at 354,400 shekels overall, rising to 486,800 shekels in high-tech roles.
Goods exports by foreign-controlled companies rose sharply, up 31% year-on-year to 143.7 billion shekels, representing 54.2% of Israel’s total goods exports.
