UK Set to Announce Boycott of Israeli Settlements Tuesday
The UK is set to announce a ban on trade, investment, and services tied to Israeli settlements, following recent construction tenders in the E1 corridor.
Jerusalem, 7 September, 2026 (TPS-IL) — The United Kingdom is expected to announce on Tuesday a ban on trade, investment and services linked to Israeli settlements in Judea and Samaria.
The move follows Israel’s publication of construction tenders in the E1 corridor, connecting suburban Jerusalem with Maale Adumim, which threatens the viability of a contiguous Palestinian state in the future.
British Foreign Secretary Ed Miliband reportedly views the measures as bringing UK policy closer to a July 2024 advisory opinion by the International Court of Justice on Israel’s presence in Judea and Samaria.
The expected restrictions would prohibit imports of goods produced by settlements, block investments in businesses operating within settlements, and prevent British companies from providing services that support or benefit settlement infrastructure.
Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar has warned that Israel would consider retaliatory measures if Britain proceeds with the boycott.
