Jerusalem, 2 September, 2026 (TPS-IL) — The U.S. Justice Department has seized more than $560,000 in cryptocurrency intended to support Hamas. The department said Tuesday that the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) traced and seized the cryptocurrency in three operations conducted between March and October 2025.
The FBI also seized domains and servers used by Hamas including infrastructure associated with its main website, AlQassam.ps. U.S. authorities said Hamas used encrypted online communications, websites and cryptocurrency addresses to solicit donations outside the formal financial system.
The FBI also obtained information on thousands of individuals who contacted Hamas online to donate or attempted to donate, the Justice Department said.
