Jerusalem, 6 September, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Ahead of the Jewish High Holidays, the National Security Council (NSC) issued an updated assessment of terrorist threats facing Israelis abroad. The NSC said the update reflects global terrorism trends and does not include new travel warnings.

Countries near Iran remain vulnerable to Iranian terrorist networks, with Azerbaijan, Turkey and the United Arab Emirates of particular concern.

The NSC has issued Level 4 warnings for Jordan, Qatar, Somaliland and Egypt, including Sinai, and urges Israelis to avoid these areas completely. Israelis should also avoid connecting flights in Level 4 countries when possible and must not leave the airport terminal.

Iraq, including Kurdistan, Yemen, Iran, Syria and Lebanon are legally off-limits to Israelis because of the serious danger.

The NSC also advises against travel to Saudi Arabia, Bangladesh, Somalia, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Libya and Algeria, which are considered high-risk destinations.
