Jerusalem, 7 September, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Israel’s Communications Ministry has awarded the winners of its third tender to expand fiber-optic infrastructure, covering nearly all remaining households in areas where deployment is particularly difficult. Telran, Partner and Puzzle will deploy fiber to 29,208 of the 29,913 households included in the tender, the ministry said Monday.
The new deployment will include Kafr Aqeb in northern Jerusalem, isolated communities in the Arava and southern Dead Sea areas, Bedouin communities in the Negev and additional communities in the Galilee.
About 95% of Israeli households currently have access to fiber, with coverage expected to reach 99.9% by 2028.
