Over 76,000 Reports of Harming Minors Online Reported Since New Hotline Opened

Israel's hotline #105 received over 76,000 reports of harming minors online from 2018-2025, with 16,292 in 2025, primarily on Instagram & WhatsApp.

Jerusalem, 12 February, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Israel’s National Headquarters for the Protection of Children Online reported that, from the establishment of its telephone hotline #105, from February 2018 to December 31, 2025, over 76,000 incidents of harassment of minors were received and handled.

In 2025, 16,292 incidents were opened and handled at the hotline.

The main types of complaints as a percentage of the total:

Sex offenses (25%)
Bullying and humiliation (18%)
Fear for human life (9%)

The main venues in which the offenses occurred as a percentage of the total:

Instagram (20%)
WhatsApp (19%)
TikTok (15%)

Age range of most victims:

15-12

Gender of the victims:

55% girls and teenagers
45% children and adolescents

Age range of most detected offenders:

15-12

Gender of the identified offenders:

A clear majority of the perpetrators are males (71%) and the rest are females (29%).

72% of the perpetrators identified were children and teenagers under the age of 18.

Most of those reporting to the hotline were the victims themselves (54%) followed by their parents (27%).
