Jerusalem, 6 September, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu delivered a Rosh Hashanah toast at Sunday’s cabinet meeting, saying Israel “stands at the top” thanks to what he called “wise and bold decisions,” the heroism of Israeli fighters, and the resilience of the Israeli people.

Netanyahu said Israel and the United States “made tremendous strides in removing an existential threat” from Iran, saying Israel “eliminated atomic bombs and ballistic missiles” and “struck the Iranian axis with immense force.” He said Iran has avoided attacking Israel since, warning that if it did, “it will absorb a blow beyond its imagination.”

Netanyahu praised IDF soldiers and security forces for continuing to eliminate terrorists in Lebanon, Gaza, and Judea and Samaria, and said Israel remains determined to bring about the fall of Iran’s government, calling it “weak” and “faltering.”

He closed by wishing “a Happy New Year to the entire people of Israel.”
