> 🇮🇱🇦🇷”>Jerusalem, 6 September, 2026 (TPS-IL) — President Isaac Herzog awarded the “President’s Medal” (Itur HaNasi) at a ceremony Sunday evening at the President’s Residence in Jerusalem, honoring 11 individuals from a broad range of fields for significant and long-standing contributions to the State of Israel.
The event was hosted by Dalia Mazor and featured musical performances by Shlomi Shaban, Shuli Rand and Daniel Zamir, alongside the ensemble of the Rimon School of Music.
The President’s Medal, established at the initiative of Israel’s ninth president, the late Shimon Peres, and first awarded in 2012, recognizes individuals who have made an extraordinary contribution to Israel, the Jewish people, or humanity through their achievements, talents or service.
In his address, Herzog said, “Precisely amid disputes, precisely during this period — the High Holy Days, during an election season — I will reiterate and warn: elections are not a civil war! After the elections, we will all remain here — sisters and brothers.” He also thanked bereaved families and families of returned hostages in attendance, calling them “a simple, living reminder of these truths for us all.”
