TPS: Northern Druze Leaders Publicly Back Minister Yitzhak Wasserlauf

Eight northern Druze community leaders have publicly backed Minister Yitzhak Wasserlauf, praising his practical support and engagement with their localities.

Jerusalem, 16 September, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Eight heads of Druze local authorities in northern Israel have publicly expressed support for Minister Yitzhak Wasserlauf of the Otzma Yehudit party, praising his work with their communities.

In a letter to Wasserlauf, Minister for the Development of the Negev, the Galilee and National Resilience, the local leaders thanked him for what they described as practical assistance, engagement with local concerns and support for Druze communities.

The letter said Wasserlauf’s commitment was demonstrated through investments in Druze localities and support for Druze communities in Syria.

The letter was signed by eight council heads from northern Druze communities, including Kisra-Sumei, Beit Jann, Hurfeish, Peki’in and Majdal Shams.
