Jerusalem, 6 September, 2026 (TPS-IL) — MK Tzvika Foghel, 70, announced on Sunday that he is leaving the Otzma Yehudit party.
He posted on X: “Regrettably, the path to continue my activities in the Knesset or in the future government is not possible as I had planned. And therefore, I will not run for the 26th Knesset on behalf of the Otzma Yehudit party.”
Foghel’s departure came after the party finalized its election slate, placing MK Tali Gottliv second, Minister Yitzhak Wasserlauf third, Minister Amichai Eliyahu fourth, MK Limor Son Har-Melech fifth, and MK Yitzhak Kroizer sixth. Foghel, who served as chairman of the Knesset National Security Committee, was pushed further down the list.
