Jerusalem, 8 September, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Israel’s Ministry of Education has announced a policy aimed at ensuring every student feels a sense of belonging and safety in school, with specific measures targeting social rejection, ostracism, and bullying.
The initiative frames social belonging as a core human need, warning that its absence can lead to loneliness and erode students’ sense of security and self-worth.
Schools will address the issue through dedicated homeroom sessions, integration into core curricula, and both formal and informal educational activities on and off school grounds.
The policy reflects a broader push by education systems globally to address the psychological and social wellbeing of students alongside academic performance.
