Jerusalem, 17 September, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Israel’s Police Commissioner Danny Levy reached agreements with the Ministry of Finance to raise salaries for officers across several ranks, following roughly a decade of stalled negotiations.
Under the deal, Border Police headquarters staff in the West Bank will receive higher activity-level compensation, crime scene investigators will be promoted to a higher pay grade, and traffic accident examiners will receive a monthly pension payment of 2,000 shekels (about $540).
Identification officers will see their existing pay status formalized, while new mobile laboratory identification officers hired going forward will receive a new activity-level classification along with the same monthly pension benefit.
