Jerusalem, 25 August, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Israel launched an NIS 170 million ($56 million) program to support farmers in communities near the Lebanese border.
The initiative, spearheaded by the Ministry of Agriculture and the Tnufa Directorate for the North, will help farmers expand and modernize their farms, with grants covering 50% of approved investments, 60% for advanced machinery and up to 80% for water infrastructure. Eligible farmers can receive support for investments of up to NIS 3 million ($1 million), including greenhouses, livestock facilities, packing houses, planting, mechanization and technology.
Under a new system, farmers will learn their eligibility and funding amount before submitting a detailed investment plan. The program covers 18 municipalities and localities across northern Israel.
