Jerusalem, 24 August, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Netivei Israel announced Monday night that Highway 4, which was closed earlier between the Aluf Sadeh and Em HaMoshavot interchanges due to Haredi draft protests, has reopened to traffic. According to the announcement, traffic is flowing normally with no congestion.
Highway 4, one of Israel’s busiest roads, was blocked for about four hours Monday in the Bnei Brak area during a protest by the Haredi Jerusalem Faction, over the arrest of a draft evader.
Dozens of protesters descended onto the highway near the Geha Junction, chanting, “We will die rather than enlist.”
The northbound lanes were closed from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.
