Jerusalem, 6 September, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Lebanese Foreign Minister Youssef Rajji, a member of the Christian Lebanese Forces party, which opposes Hezbollah, said over the weekend that he recently received security warnings and was told not to go to his office.
Rajji tried to expel Iranian Ambassador Mohammad Reza Sheibani from Beirut on March 24 but failed.
A political source close to Rajji said there are concerns Hezbollah may try to harm him because of his positions. The source noted that the Foreign Ministry is located in central Beirut, an area where Hezbollah has significant freedom of action.
On Saturday, Hezbollah lawmaker Hassan Ezzeddine said Lebanon is facing “a crisis situation,” and accused the government of creating instability, losing public trust, and lacking the legitimacy to lead.
