Израиль готовится к работе с опасными отходами после ракетных ударов
Министерство охраны окружающей среды Израиля разработало план по обращению с опасными отходами от сноса зданий после ракетных ударов, уделяя первостепенное внимание безопасности.
Jerusalem, 2 March, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Against the backdrop of Operation “Roaring Lion” against Iran and the preparations in the home front, which are expressed, among other things, in the risk of significant destruction and construction waste, Israel’s Ministry of Environmental Protection has formulated and distributed what it called a “well-organized professional outline” for managing environmental risks at sites demolished in missile attacks.
The outline was submitted to the heads of local authorities through the Local Government Center, and is based on accumulated experience from disaster events and fighting in Israel and around the world and includes clear operational emphases of do’s and don’ts for the initial treatment of rubble waste.
Demolition waste in emergency events may contain hazardous components such as asbestos fragments, electronic waste, gas cylinders and accumulators, containers with hazardous materials, and chemical residues. Uncontrolled treatment of this waste can result in exposure to toxic substances, soil and water pollution, pollutant emissions into the air, and a real risk to emergency teams and the public.
As part of the outline, it was determined, among other things, that the demolition sites must be immediately demarcated and secured, a survey and identification of risks must be conducted prior to evacuation, hazardous waste must be separated from regular construction waste at source, waste must be avoided from mixing or burning, and evacuation must be ensured only through authorized contractors and to authorized sites, with full documentation of the evacuation chain.
