Jerusalem, 8 September, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Israel Defense Forces troops and Border Police officers operated under Shin Bet direction to thwart terrorist activity in the villages of Qabalan, Awarta, Aqraba and Yatma in Samaria overnight Tuesday.
In Aqraba, troops arrived to question a suspected terrorist who, upon their arrival, hurled a Molotov cocktail and an improvised explosive device at the forces. No injuries were reported.
The troops initiated a “pressure cooker” protocol, surrounding the building on all sides before entering it. Nahal Reconnaissance Unit soldiers killed the terrorist as he held a knife he intended to use against the forces.
The forces also arrested four wanted suspects, including three terrorists involved in weapons trafficking and another who was allegedly planning to carry out an imminent attack. During searches of 70 locations, troops questioned about 60 suspects and uncovered ammunition, a grenade launcher, and additional military equipment.
