Jerusalem, 19 August, 2026 (TPS-IL) — The Shin Bet Security Agency on Wednesday asked the High Court of Justice to reject the petition against the plan by Social Equality Minister May Golan and National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir to divert funds designated for the development of Arab society to Shin Bet activities in the criminal sphere.

The petition, filed this month by the Association for Civil Rights in Israel, seeks to overturn the government decision, arguing that the move is illegal and violates human rights.
