Jerusalem, 10 September, 2026 (TPS-IL) — The Democrats party chairman Yair Golan has filed a NIS 2.55 million ($850,000) lawsuit against Sara Netanyahu at the Lod Central District Court, accusing the prime minister’s wife of defamation and incitement to violence.
The lawsuit follows an interview in which Mrs. Netanyahu said of Golan, “You are a military officer of such a high rank, and you claim you were a combatant on October 7. Early that morning, you were already there, dressed and ready, at a very, very early hour, when others did not know, such as the prime minister.”
Golan claims the remarks triggered a 450% increase in hostile social media activity and threats, forcing him to increase his security arrangements.
Likud defended Mrs. Netanyahu’s remarks as lacking malice and attacked Golan’s lawsuit as “bullying and violent.”
