Jerusalem, 27 August, 2026 (TPS-IL) — COGAT (Coordination of Government Activities in the Territories: Judea and Samaria and towards the Gaza Strip) reported that UNICEF’s latest “SMART survey” shows significant improvement in acute malnutrition indicators among children in the Gaza Strip, with admissions for acute malnutrition treatment declining by 82%.
UNICEF said, “Children’s nutrition improves when aid and commercial supplies reach them.”
The UNICEF report aligns with COGAT’s recently published findings, which indicate improvement and stability in Gaza’s humanitarian situation. Since the start of the ceasefire in October 2025, COGAT has coordinated the entry of more than two million tons of food into Gaza, working alongside the UN, international organizations, and donor countries.
COGAT said it will continue facilitating humanitarian aid while closely monitoring nutritional indicators on the ground.
