Jerusalem, 7 September, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Wolfson Medical Center in Holon, Israel, has awarded 280,000 shekels (about $75,000) in research grants to nine clinical researchers Ahead of Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year. The funding comes from an endowment established by the late Dr. Dorian Powell, administered through the Friends of Wolfson Medical Center Association.

The grants support applied clinical studies designed to translate directly into improved patient care within 12 months. Funded projects span pediatric pulmonology and asthma treatment, prevention of post-cesarean blood clots, reduction of cardiometabolic risk after pregnancy complications, cardiac imaging improvements, predictive modeling for pacemaker implantation, and glycemic control for hemodialysis patients.

The initiative reflects a broader push toward research with immediate clinical impact rather than long-term theoretical study.
