TPS: Israels Foreign Assets Surge to $1 Trillion in Second Quarter of 2026

Israel's foreign assets reached $1.013 trillion by June 2026, marking a 10% increase due to investment gains and securities.

Jerusalem, 17 September, 2026 (TPS-IL) — The Bank of Israel reported that Israeli residents’ assets held abroad rose by approximately $92 billion, or about 10%, to reach $1.013 trillion by the end of June 2026, driven largely by price gains and net investment in foreign securities.

Liabilities to foreign entities rose by $39 billion, or 6%, to about $697 billion, mainly due to nonresident investment. Israel’s net external asset surplus grew by $53 billion, or 20%, reaching approximately $316 billion.

The country’s gross external debt-to-GDP ratio rose slightly to about 27%, while its net external debt position improved by $11 billion, reaching negative $350 billion, reflecting a strong overall international financial position.
