Jerusalem, 26 August, 2026 (TPS-IL) — COGAT (Coordination of Government Activities in the Territories: Judea and Samaria and towards the Gaza Strip) reported that more than two million tons of food have entered the Gaza Strip since the start of the ceasefire, enabling the opening of dozens of community kitchens and bakeries, a wider variety of food in markets, and a significant decrease in food prices.

Since October 2025, food prices in Gaza markets have decreased by approximately 74%.

COGAT said substantial humanitarian aid enters Gaza every month, enabling a continuous decrease in food and other item prices. Lower market prices mean civilians in Gaza can purchase more essential goods at more affordable rates, as humanitarian assistance and commercial supplies continue entering the Strip.
