Jerusalem, 8 September, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Israeli President Isaac Herzog on Tuesday warned Britain against imposing trade sanctions on Israeli products from Judea and Samaria, saying the move would harm both Israelis and Palestinians.

Speaking at the “Horizon Europe” awards ceremony in Jerusalem, Herzog said expected British measures would be a serious mistake.

“Sanctions are not a solution. Dialogue is,” Herzog said. “I say to all foreign governments: Stop! Step away from the dead-end of sanctions and boycotts.”

Herzog argued that sanctions would hurt Palestinian businesses and employment and could undermine the interests and national security of Western nations. He called instead for constructive dialogue and cooperation, warning that other countries could follow Britain’s lead.
