Coordinator of Government Activities in Gaza Meets with UNICEF Chief

Jerusalem, 14 June, 2026 (TPS-IL) — The Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories and Gaza (COGAT), Major General Yoram Halevy, met today (Sunday) with UNICEF (United Nations Children’s Fund) Special Representative Jonathan Veitch.

The meeting focused on coordination with UNICEF ahead of the summer months, with particular emphasis on advancing water and WASH-related solutions in the Gaza Strip. The parties discussed a number of ongoing and planned projects aimed at improving access to water for the population.

Major General Halevy emphasized the importance of coordination with UNICEF and the agency’s contribution to the humanitarian effort in the Gaza Strip. The UNICEF Special Representative thanked COGAT for the ongoing cooperation and for the efforts to advance humanitarian solutions on the ground.
