Jerusalem, 14 September, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Germany’s Diehl Defense and Israel’s Elbit Systems successfully demonstrated the SkyStriker loitering munition system in a live test in early September, marking a milestone in their strategic partnership formalized in June 2026 at Berlin’s ILA airshow.
The demonstration tested the system’s range and endurance, including a target “hand-over” function executed at 80 kilometers, with SkyStriker autonomously detecting, tracking, and striking a prepared target after launch from a canister. The system also integrated successfully with the SkyLark 1 reconnaissance drone.
SkyStriker is an electrically powered precision-strike munition with a range exceeding 200 kilometers and over two hours of loiter time, designed for low acoustic and thermal detectability in tactical strike missions.
