The Jerusalem District Police have completed their investigation and have gathered evidence against seven suspects involved in the murder of the deceased Benyahu Raz. On 26.07.11, a report was received regarding a severe violent incident.

Police forces from the Lev HaBira station who arrived at the scene located a scene with two injured individuals, including Benyahu Razi, who was found deceased at the scene. Following a situation assessment conducted by the Commander of the Jerusalem District, Superintendent Avshalom Peled, the investigation was assigned to the Crime Fighting Unit (Yalap) of the Zion District. On the first night, six suspects were arrested for involvement in the incident. Subsequently, the circle of arrests was expanded with the apprehension of additional suspects on suspicion of involvement in the incident, evidence tampering, and aiding other suspects. Yalap investigators and detectives worked around the clock, conducting an intensive investigation alongside the Jerusalem District Prosecutor’s Office, and with the assistance of additional factors in the district, in order to build a evidentiary foundation against those involved. Today, with the evidentiary foundation exhausted, a statement of charges was filed against the seven suspects by the prosecution.
