The Israel Police and Border Police announce with deep sorrow and grief the death of a fighter in the Yamam unit, Sergeant Major Itai Peretz z"l, aged 23,

Forces operated to locate him, and his body was found a short time ago. The circumstances of the incident are being investigated. First Sergeant Itay Peretz z”l enlisted in January 2023 for a pilot course and in August 2023. He transferred to mandatory service in the Border Police. Upon completion of his combat training, he continued on a dedicated track for a “Mista’arvim” (undercover counter-terrorism) course, after which he was assigned to the observation and drones team in the National Counter-Terrorism Unit (YAMAM) of the Border Police. In December 2025, he enlisted for permanent service in the unit. He is survived by his parents, two brothers, two sisters, and his partner. Notification was given to his family. The Israel Police and the Border Police share in the family’s grief and will continue to support them. May his memory be a blessing.
